For Educators looking for information on Black History, our project pages contain information on our locally based projects and ongoing research which aim to tell the story of our communities in Wales.

We have a series of publications (currently available on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/) which complement these pages and provide greater insight into local history.

Our Book ‘African Connections: The Seamen who came to Wales’ records the history of West African Seamen who came to Wales.

‘Newport’s Forgotten History: The 1919 Race Riots’ is about the Riots in Newport and focuses on the Surviving Witness depositions which were recorded at the time.

‘Calypso & Coal’: From Port to Pit, is a publication about the Mining Community in Wales, who came from America and the Caribbean and worked in the South Wales Coal Field.
